Meet Dr. Lau
I grew up in San Francisco, California, and knew from a young age that I wanted to become a dentist. I’ve always been passionate about visual arts and attended a technical arts high school, where I explored painting, ceramics, woodworking, and jewelry making among other creative mediums. That experience sparked my love for detailed, hands-on work and led me to realize that dentistry would allow me to combine precision and artistry with the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
I went on to complete the accelerated undergraduate and dental program at the University of the Pacific, where I graduated with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. I earned my Master’s in Orthodontics at UOP and was honored to receive the Eugene L. Gottlieb JCO Resident of the Year Award.
After practicing in the Bay Area for several years, I decided it was time for a new adventure and made the move to Seattle. I stay up to date with the latest orthodontic technologies and philosophies through continuing education and active involvement in multiple professional organizations. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists
- California Association of Orthodontists
- Washington State Society of Orthodontists
I grew up in an immigrant family and I’m fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin. I take pride in delivering compassionate, inclusive care and strive to ensure that every patient feels represented, respected, and truly cared for.
Outside of the office, you’ll likely find me at my ceramic studio working on pieces for my small business. I also enjoy working out, painting, photography, and traveling whenever I get the chance.
