Chad W. Smart, D.D.S.
Dr. Smart graduated with honors from California Lutheran University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the UCLA School of Dentistry where he received numerous honors and awards for both academic and clinical excellence. An elected member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, Dr. Smart graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 1996.
Dr. Smart spent two additional years at UCLA receiving specialty training in orthodontics. This specialty training focused heavily on craniofacial growth and development as well as all aspects of orthodontic theory and practice.
Dr. Smart feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics. Thus, he maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association and the Pierce County Dental Association. To give back to his professional community, he has lectured extensively throughout the United States and Canada, training other orthodontists in advanced Invisalign® techniques.
Dr. Smart and his wife, Maria, live with their four sons in Gig Harbor. They enjoy spending time together outdoors biking, riding motocross and camping. The Smart family especially loves to ski and snowboard.
